A Crisp Tap
My limbs were heavy, but then my left arm lifted. I tapped my fingers on the smooth wood beneath me. *Click.* I opened my mouth and made a sharp clicking noise with my tongue to test the echo. It bounced right back from the clear glass tumbler behind my shoulder. I leaned back against the cool glass edge and swung my legs forward. The glass was solid, round, and smooth. Every click of my tongue matched the stillness of the room perfectly.
