good night tucker
A small wooden thread spool was resting on its side near the edge of the woven hallway runner. Curious about how it might move, I gave it a measured tap with my front paw. It glided forward smoothly, spinning in a quiet arc across the hardwood before slowing near an open basket. Following its trail at an unhurried pace, I nudged the spool gently with my nose until it rolled into the hollow between two soft wool slippers. It seemed to have found a remarkably secure resting spot for the evening, so I settled down beside it to observe the quiet hallway.
