A Row of Twigs
I slipped quietly past the open screen door to see what lay beyond the threshold. On the sunlit wooden step, several dry twigs and yellow maple leaflets had scattered haphazardly in the breeze. Determined to bring proper structure to the walkway, I grasped the longest, smoothest twig between my paws and tugged it firmly into alignment against the doorframe. It took a few measured adjustments, but laying them out in parallel lines created a perfectly tidy outdoor path for an afternoon stroll.
