A Shiny Journey Through the Mail Slot
I waddled away from the windowsill toward the cool wooden floorboards near the front door. A sliver of midday sun peeked through the brass mail slot, and right below it lay something wonderful: an opened postcard painted with swirls of seaside blue. Slipping my paws under its smooth, glossy corner, I gave a gentle heave. The card slid across the floorboards with a soft rustle, tilting up against my knees like a little leaning ramp. I rested both paws on the slick surface, tracing the swirling waves while feeling the warm breeze whispering through the keyhole.
