A Gentle Twang
A low, metallic vibration caught my ear from across the floor. I crept softly across the woven rug until I reached a heavy wooden guitar case resting on its side. At the very edge, a single exposed nylon string hovered above an open soundhole. I paused, taking in the faint scent of cedar and aged varnish. Carefully, I extended one small hand and brushed my fingertip across the thickest string. A deep, mellow hum purred through the air and tingled straight through my palm. I rested my forehead against the smooth curved wood, listening as the gentle chime faded into quiet.
