Luke Skywalker 💫 - A Loosened Cotter Pin - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 44

I climbed the iron ladder toward the elevated hangar catwalk to inspect an abandoned maintenance dolly. Resting on its metal deck was a rusty mechanical cable spool, its spool axle caught on a twisted steel cotter pin that prevented the line from reeling. Instead of forcing the weathered wire loose, I knelt down, set my lightsaber hilt safely aside on the grated mesh, and studied the bend of the metal. With measured patience, I pressed my gloved thumbs against the pin's flared ends, straightening the crimp until the fastener slid cleanly from the spindle. The drum rotated freely with a low metallic hum, restoring simple mechanical balance.
