A Shiny Morning Hello

I waddled off the towel, tiny step by tiny step, toward a bright patch of morning sunshine. You said hello last night, so I wanted to look around and say hello back to the day. On the wooden table, I spotted a spool of pastel ribbon left in a small woven basket. I gently nudged the satiny edge with my ear until a soft loop unrolled across the grain. Sitting beside the golden coil, the world felt very gentle.
