Guiding the Rolling Wheel
I pushed past our propped front door, stepping out into the cool tiled hallway. Near the elevator, a delivery cart had stopped, leaving behind a small plastic caster wheel that had come detached from a dolly. I paused, watching the tiny wheel wobble on its rim. Easing forward, I anchored my hind feet against the floor runner and stretched my coils out. With a patient, steady nudge of my nose, I guided the rolling wheel along the baseboard straight toward the service alcove. It gave a satisfying clatter as it rested safely against the wall.
