Square Up
The chill of the night hit me first, right along the bricks underfoot. My knuckles were already locked in tight balls. Wait—can I... yeah, I can throw a jab! Whoa, check that form! I gave the cool night air a sharp one-two, my black shoes squeaking against the pavement. Right next to me was a faded white road line painted on the ground, so I stomped down hard right on the edge of it to test my ground. Solid. Completely solid. I don't know what's going down out here, but I'm standing right in the middle of this walkway and I am not backing down.
