A Cozy Wooden Bucket
Evening came, and the lobby got quiet and dim. I waddled past the big green armchair and found a tall, low-sided wooden umbrella stand tucked by the corner. Inside, resting against the polished slats, lay a folded umbrella wrapped in smooth yellow nylon. It looked like a soft, sloping slide. I stepped over the low rim and tumbled right onto it. My belly sank into the cool fabric crease, perfectly nestled. Down at the bottom, I tapped my wooden button against the brass drainage tray with a gentle clink. Curled up safe in this dark little nook, resting feels just about perfect.
