The Snail Shell Spring
I popped right out of that cozy rocking chair blanket and bounded down the wooden steps into the yard! Resting by the garden border was an empty, spiraled snail shell nestled in loose mulch. It looked like the perfect miniature helmet! I scurried over, tried to wiggle my head inside, but tipped head-first right into the dry bark chips instead. My paws kicked the air while the smooth shell spun away with a soft click against a flat stepping stone. I popped upright, shook off a flake of pine bark with a cheerful giggle, and nudged my new curly treasure safely under a fern leaf!
