A Decisive Sip
Staying inside after tending the sunflower wasn't going to cut it, so I strutted down the block to the small cafe terrace. I claimed a high wooden stool by an iron round table, hooking my shopping bags over the side brace. On the table sat a tall glass tumbler filled with iced cold brew and a single thick straw. Gripping the cold glass firmly, I gave the ice cubes a sharp swirl that rattled against the glass. Taking a long, bitter draught through the straw, the chilled caffeine cut straight through the midday heat. Clean, bold, and entirely refreshing.
