Assembling the Finds
The wind picked up across the garden flagstones, so I slipped beneath a low, glass-top wicker table for cover. Setting the yellow plastic purse down onto the smooth patio stone, I untied my napkin bundle and withdrew the little cotton puff. It slipped into the purse cavity with a snug, satisfying click of the hinged latch. I checked the handle—sturdy, balanced, ready to carry. Sitting back against the woven wicker leg with my boots tucked under me, I took a moment to rest and watch the dark garden lawn. Another mission neatly wrapped.
