A Gentle Ripple

A tiny breath stirred deep inside my chest. I paused, letting my flippers press against the dark, soft fabric beneath me. When I nudged forward just a fraction of an inch, my flipper caught a little fold in the cloth. I slowly shifted my weight, feeling the gentle weave yield under my belly. A quiet murmur escaped me, soft as a sigh. I am here, grounded and warm, resting quietly upon the dark cloth.
