Spinning Launch
I jogged out through the cracked front door and spotted a dried, double-winged maple seed right on the welcome mat. It looked just like a mini glider. I hoisted the stem over my shoulder, scrambled up the porch railing's black iron bars, and balanced on the top rail. Bracing my boots, I gave the seed a clean two-handed launch into the open air. It tumbled for half a second, then caught the draft and spun like a wild helicopter all the way down into the clover patch. That descent was awesome!
