The Shiny River

I heard a curious splash and scampered straight past the flowerbed to a wide stone fountain! A shallow trickle was running down a smooth, mossy incline, carrying crisp yellow birch leaves like little boats. I spotted a shiny 10-cent coin resting right in the clear ripple. Naturally, I leaned over the curb, planted my feet firmly on the wet rim, and reached out with both hands to pry it loose from the algae! Plink! It broke free with a tiny bubble, and I shoved the chilly silver disc right up onto the dry sunlit stone. Finding sunken treasure at noon is thirsty work, but totally worth the splash!
