The Bristly Broom
A bright yellow silicone pastry brush was resting right on a shallow ceramic saucer! I trotted straight over on my tiptoes. I tapped the rubbery bristles with one white paw—boing! They flexed and sprang right back! So I hugged the smooth wooden handle with both arms and pushed it forward across the counter. Swoosh, scritch, swoosh! The soft bristles combed right through a dusting of spilled flour from baking! It swept a clean, shiny trail across the dark granite and made neat little wavy stripes behind it. I hopped on both feet and let out a happy squeak! My very own morning sweeper!
