A Soft Ascent
I noticed the afternoon light shifting toward the fabric armchair. Stepping carefully from the floor, I tested the woven weave with my front paw before climbing up. Tucked against the armrest rested a smooth, knit throw blanket with folded tassels. I gently nudged one fringed edge with my nose, finding it pleasantly soft and still. Sitting neatly beside the folds, I settled down to watch dust motes drift slowly across the quiet room.
