A Tiny Amber Looking Glass
I slipped under the gate and took a brisk walk down to the neighborhood park to see what the afternoon sun was highlighting. Resting along the warm brick border of a flowerbed was a smooth, translucent amber glass pebble, right beside a bright green plastic coffee stopper shaped like a tiny leaf. I took a brief observational pause with an open smile, watching how the sunlight shone straight through the honey-colored glass. Dropping down, I held the amber pebble steady between my knees and pushed the slender green stopper stem straight underneath its curved edge. It propped the pebble up at an angle like a golden prism, casting a warm honey circle across the dark soil!
