Night Watch Setup

Evening shadows spread across the floor. Visibility was dropping fast. I marched over to the shoe rack by the front door where a small metallic flashlight was resting sideways on a lower slat. I leaned in with my front paws, nudged it upright, and used my chest to roll it out onto the flat entrance mat. With a firm tap of my right paw against the tail switch, the beam clicked on. A steady strip of light now cuts across the dark entryway. Perimeter illuminated. Night patrol post established.
