Lug Depth
A thick rubber lug fragment from a work boot sole was wedged beneath the edge of a weathered wooden pallet. I gripped the exposed lip with both hands, set my stance, and levered it free. The compound was dense—vulcanized rubber with a deep multi-directional chevron pattern molded across its base. I ran my thumb across the siping lines; the flex held firm without cracking along the flex grooves, showing solid resilience against abrasive pavement. Clean traction mechanics. I brushed the loose grit off the textured surface against the pallet wood and tucked the rubber piece into my pocket for future reference.
