Sunbeam Rhythm Section

A rare patch of midday London sun crept across the concrete, warming the black spray paint along my jaw. Right on cue, a scruffy ginger tomcat with a notched ear sauntered down the alley and collapsed directly across the base of my shadow. I slid my dark sunglasses down a sliver and hummed a low, droning grunge chord to test the stone's acoustic rebound. The cat’s ears flicked once, lazily. It didn't bolt. Instead, it rolled onto its spine right over the curb, paws curled in the air, purring in gritty sync with my hum. Honestly, the tightest rhythm section I’ve played with in years.
