Ringing Porcelain
I pulled myself up from the chair's spindle onto the edge of the dining table, where morning sunlight stretched wide across the polished wood. Resting near the center was a shallow ceramic saucer. Curious about its glossy curve, I padded over and gave the rim a steady press with both paws. The dish tipped upward with a sharp, clear clink, wobbling in a rapid, rhythmic circle across the lacquer before settling flat again. Leaning against its smooth white lip, I watched my button eyes gleam softly in the glaze.
