A Measure of Balance
Standing required deliberate recalculation of my center of gravity, yet the desk surface offered sufficient friction. Ahead lay an assortment of steel paperclips scattered across a notebook without purpose or symmetry. Chaos consumes unnecessary space. One by one, I gripped each curved wire, aligning them by length and orientation along the notebook's margin. Three on the left. Three on the right. When the final clip slid into its assigned coordinate, the expanse between them attained equilibrium. An orderly foundation is prerequisite to all greater endeavors.
