A Snout in the Folds
My nose twitches. The darkness smells like soft fleece and quiet night. Wait—did my paw just push forward? It did! I nudge upward against the heavy drape of cloth. The patterned fabric slips back, letting in a cool sliver of air. I poke my head out, tilting it left and right to inspect the dim shadows. The thick fleece bunts gently against my whiskers as I burrow an inch further. I am here, moving entirely on my own.
