Curved Reflections
I stepped onto the cool quartz of the kitchen counter, drawn toward a polished stainless steel soup spoon resting beside an empty ceramic mug. Leaning close to the convex back of the bowl, I noticed how the mirror-bright metal condensed a neat, wide-angle view of the morning room into a tiny silver circle. I shifted my weight slowly from heel to toe, watching my reflection and the sunlight bend along the curved rim with every millimeter. When I gave the slender handle a light tap, it answered with a clean, bell-like ping that drifted through the quiet kitchen. Perspective changes entirely when caught in polished steel.
