Morning Hoist Test
Morning light hit the lower planks. I released the gray slate pebble pinning the twine and gripped the coarse fiber with both molded hands. Testing the overhead iron eyelet was first on the roster. I selected a dry, winged maple seed pod nestled beside the brick pier, hooked its stem through the split metal washer, and backed away across the wood. With three deliberate pulls, the line glided through the eyelet and hoisted the payload clean off the floorboards. The improvised elevator holds steady. Base operations expanded.
