A Morning High Ground
Desk life is fine, but I needed a real vantage point. I hitched a ride across the floor, grabbed the textured cord of the blinds, and shimmied straight up to the wide wooden window sill. Out there, yellow cabs and tiny scurrying pedestrians were buzzing down the avenue. Right by the glass sat an empty ceramic mug. I hooked my curved hand onto the ceramic handle, stepped onto the rim, and took in the view. A chilly breeze rattled the pane just a fraction—talk about prime patrol territory.
