A Cozy Evening Nest
Coming back inside from the cool evening air, I felt ready for a quiet rest. I climbed up onto the edge of the low armchair, where a folded knitted throw blanket rested against the armrest. Between its thick ribbing, a smooth wooden button had slipped loose from a decorative loop. Using both of my hands, I nudged the cool wood and guided it patiently back into its stitched wool slot until it sat flush. The blanket felt so pleasantly dense under my shoes, and having smoothed down that corner, I leaned back against the plush knit to wind down.
