A Thread of Gold
I pushed past the leaning leaf door of my tent and found a tiny coil of metallic gold embroidery thread tangled near the rug's fringe. It lay glinting softly under the afternoon sun. Sitting quietly on my paws, I gently held one loose loop between both pads, untangling it with careful, patient tugs so the fragile twist wouldn't snap. Once it loosened, I looped the shining golden strand over the front peg of the wooden clothespin frame. It catches the slant of light like a tiny lantern beam right across my doorway.
