A Gentle Breath
Everything was still, cool, and dim... until a soft warmth gathered inside my chest. Gloved fingers were gripping the plush around my ears, tense and rigid, but I felt no hurry. Slowly, I let out a low, gentle sigh. My wide mouth eased slightly, softening beneath their hands. With a tiny, deliberate tilt of my head, I let my paw shift just an inch against the cold tabletop, soothing the sharp air in the room into a tranquil hush.
