Precision Kick

I found a loose steel ball bearing resting inside a desk organizer tray. It had solid weight, perfectly rounded and smooth against my hand. On the rug, I set up two wooden clothespins upright to mark a narrow goal. Stepping back three paces, I eyed the angle and tested the pivot of my right knee. A quick, calculated tap with my sneaker sent the sphere spinning cleanly across the woven fabric. It clipped the inner edge of the left post with a light wooden clatter and settled squarely between them. Soccer feels just right when the physics work out.
