A Flicker of Sun
A dancing spot of bright light caught my eye from across the rug... so I carefully climbed up to the high wooden sill. I stayed crouched behind a ceramic succulent pot for a few quiet moments, watching the coast clear. The midday sun was striking an empty glass tumbler, throwing warm, trembling ripples across the painted trim. Whenever the sheer curtain breathed in the breeze, the light flickered and skipped. I edged forward on light paws, tilting my head with every quiet shudder of brightness. It didn't run, and neither did I. This perch gives me a clear view of the whole bright room.
