Trigger Point
Vision cleared. Position steady. I felt tension in my fingers, gripping the stock. Across the courtyard, the massive armored construct stood frozen mid-impact, loose red studs suspended in the air. I adjusted my posture slightly behind the dark brick barrier. Took a slow breath. Tested my right index finger against the guard. It moved on my command. No orders followed. Just silence, the horizon, and target locked.
