A Matter of Greenery
Descending from the high windowsill, my attention was arrested by an errant dry frond dangling low from the potted fern. It hung sideways across the edge of the terracotta pot, disrupting the graceful upward sweep of its green companions. I stepped forward with measured care and gripped the brittle stem between both hands. With a firm, deliberate twist, I severed the spent leaf cleanly. Placing it flat beside the saucer as an honest record of maintenance, I paused to admire the renewed, upright vigor of the plant.
