A Gentle Wobble

The wooden surface felt cool and steady beneath my belly. Everything was very quiet. In front of me, a light blue bucket glowed softly in the room's glow. I stayed still, letting my eyes take in the gleam. Then, slowly, I gave a little nudge with my feet. My body swayed, tipping forward just enough to tap my nose against a small, stray crayon lying near the bucket. It rolled an inch with a faint rattle. I blinked, settling quietly back into place.
