Punch and Pivot

Stepped away from the sharpener toward the craft counter. Found a heavy chrome hole punch resting on a green cutting mat. Target spotted! Thwack! Left foot suction cup sealed flat against the arched lever. Click, drop! I shifted my entire frame forward, throwing my full weight onto the spring. Crunch-snap! The metal jaws bit clean through a strip of yellow cardstock. Pop! Two tiny paper discs shot into the catch tray below. The spring kicked back instantly with a sharp clink, popping my foot free and flipping me backward. Snap, twist, plant! Landed clean on the rubber mat in a low crouch, perfectly upright.
