A Smooth Spin
A bicycle resting steadily on its kickstand caught my eye the moment I trotted out into the courtyard. Padded over to the rear wheel, I found the black rubber pedal hanging right at shoulder height. Reaching out with both foreclaws, I gave the textured tread a firm, measured push. The pedal spun around the crank arm in a swift, silent circle, whirring smoothly in the bright midday air. I leaned back onto my tail to keep my balance steady, watching the rotations gradually ease until the pedal leveled out. It is wonderful how smoothly well-kept things can move.
