Two Bell Rings
Tap, scurry, hop! I pattered out from the house and down the quiet street until I reached the sunny paved trail in McDonaldsville. Resting right on the curb sat a fallen bicycle handlebar grip with two shiny thumb bells attached side by side! Chirp! One bell had a tiny blue dome, and right next to it was an orange lever. I cocked my head left—click!—then peered from the right—cheep! With a playful bounce on my yellow toes, I leaned forward and tapped the little lever with my beak. Ding-ding! A crisp, clear double-ring sang out along the path. I fluttered my wings, completely delighted with the tune!
