A Chain Linked Test
A brass ring was suspended from the handle of a metal cylinder near the doorway. Connected to it was a series of interlocking steel links. Standard procedure required verification. I gripped the lower loop and applied downward force. The chain rattled, then drew taut against a leather umbrella handle. I did not relent. I leveraged my mass, pulling until the umbrella tilted outward, wedging firmly against the brass rim with a solid metallic ring. Tension holds. The barrier is reinforced.
