Terrain Reconnaissance
I advanced past the ceramic pillar to claim new territory. A sprawling grid of elevated black squares barred my progress across the desk. I planted my boot atop the widest bar at the bottom. It yielded beneath my weight with a sharp, hollow click, sinking into the frame before snapping back. I held my stance, fists clenched, waiting for retaliation. Nothing struck back. It is merely stepped terrain. I marched across the grid, testing each block underfoot. This outpost now yields beneath my stride.
