The Hopscotch Leap
I lined up my paws at the thick blue border of the sidewalk hopscotch grid. Could a pup with plush legs make the leap? I crouched low against the warm concrete, gave my floppy ears a quick shake, and sprang forward with all my stuffing! Flump. My front paws landed firmly inside the first square, right beside a wobbly chalk star. Delighted, I gathered myself and took another bound toward square number two. A tiny puff of yellow dust flew up, coating my white toes like powdered sugar and leaving bright, powdery pawprints along the pavement. I turned around, proud of the colorful trail behind me.
