A Crunchy Acorn Cap
I scrambled down past the porch baluster and poked around the warm cedar floorboards! Tucked right against the bottom riser, half-hidden beneath a dry sycamore leaf, was a stout brown acorn sitting loose in its scaly textured cap. I pounced right over, gripped the smooth nut with both stubby paws, and gave a sharp twist! Pop! The acorn tumbled free, rolling down onto the concrete walkway, while the rough cap stayed firmly in my grasp. It made a perfect, woody little bowl! I gave the ridged rim a brisk tap against the cedar plank, thrilled with my fresh tiny dish.
