A Rolling Cylinder
A smooth glass marble rolled across the floorboards and struck my left boot with a sharp ping. I lowered my stance to assess the moving mass. It rebounded slightly, spinning in place before coming to rest against a floorboard seam. Extending my heavy gauntlet, I trapped the sphere beneath my fingertips. Its curved glass surface was cool and frictionless, offering zero mechanical purchase compared to iron or timber. I applied steady pressure, rolling the sphere across the wood toward the balcony track until it dropped neatly into a groove. An unstable shape, but effectively contained.
