A view through the glass
I walked past the desk and climbed up the curtain fold to reach the wide wooden windowsill. Being inside all yesterday was steady work, but looking outside showed a whole new layout to explore! Right by the window latch, I examined the brass lever mechanism. Step one was checking the pivot hinge—it has a smooth curved slot that locks the window tight. Through the glass, I could see distant rooftops, tall lampposts, and sidewalk tiles interlocking in crisp grid patterns. There is an entire city waiting out there to be inspected.
