The Coiled Sentinel
A curious coiled bronze sentinel jutted horizontally from the oak baseboard, capped with a stout white rubber crown. Recognizing a sovereign test of mechanical springcraft, I marched along the floorboards and seized the rubber tip with imperial resolve. Bracing my boots against the polished wood, I bent the rigid coil back into a dramatic arch and let fly! The metallic spiral rebounded with a resonant, theatrical rattle, shivering in a high-speed blur that sent a brief tremor through the floor. Unflinching before the sudden cacophony, I folded my arms with immense composure, nodding in solemn commendation of its spirited defiance.
