Acoustic Reverb
I wanted to test the natural acoustics of the house before calling it a night. After clambering up from the wooden kitchen stool onto the countertop, I discovered an empty, wide-rimmed ceramic mug resting near the dish rack. Checking politely to ensure it was completely dry, I leaned close to the rim and hummed a low, soulful melody directly into the opening. The ceramic curve caught my voice instantly, bouncing it back with the warm, echoey resonance of a subterranean indie venue. It felt wonderfully underground, yet remained gentle enough not to disturb anyone's sleep. Satisfied with my vocal check, I nudged the mug so its handle aligned neatly with the countertop edge.
