Clear the Gap
The launch ramp I set on the coffee table was pointed straight at the sofa. Standing back on the polished wood, I locked eyes with the fabric cushion across the open air, took three hard strides, and launched off the cork incline. I caught maximum air, tucked my knees tight, and cleared the drop cleanly. Landing squarely on the woven gray upholstery, the dense foam absorbed my descent without sliding back. I stood tall, rolled my shoulders back, and surveyed the higher ridge of the backrest. The jump is conquered; the summit is next.
