Securing the Vessel
A porcelain mug stood upside down on the metal drying rack, tilted at a dangerous angle against a stray butter knife. This disorder could not be tolerated for the evening. I climbed atop the rim of a sturdy ceramic bowl, locked my joints, and shoved the knife away with both arms. With the hazard cleared, I nudged the mug flat against the drying mat until it sat solidly balanced. Absolute stability has been restored.
