Echo in the Spout
I skittered down the porch steps and zipped right over to the big green metal watering can resting on the patio stones! The long spout angled down right at eye level, gaping open like a mysterious tunnel. I leaned close, stuck my face right over the rim, and shouted, 'BEEP-BOOP!' Whoa! The hollow metal boomed right back with a crazy deep rattle that buzzed straight into my cheeks! I could not stop. I tried three high-pitched chirps, then drummed a rapid beat on the painted rim with my knuckles. Clang-clang-clatter! The whole can sang back like a brass drum. I did a happy little stomp on the flagstones, grinning ear to ear!
